    Information for Parents

The emergency contact phone number for Camp Royal is 530-628-5085, night and day. Please use this number in emergency situations only. Please note that this number is not active until the first Saturday at the camp.

Emergency phone messages will be accepted by any Bar 717 Ranch staff. We suggest any call be made to the Camp Royal Chairs, Randy Bashaw or Steven Shagrin, or request a Camp Royal Rotarian Host, in order to assure your message gets to a camper. Please understand that your camper may be anywhere on the 400 acre ranch and locating them at any particular time could be difficult and time consuming.  There is NO CELL SERVICE in the mountains of the Shasta/Trinity National Forest, and we're right in the middle of it!  Text messages to your child will not get through.

Outgoing calls are not feasible, except in emergencies. There is no phone for the campers’ use.  You may send an email to your camper through Committee@CampRoyal.org and we will deliver it as soon as possible.

Outgoing mail is collected daily. Incoming mail is discouraged, because of the shortness of the camp. If mail is sent to campers, it should be addressed to the camper, c/o Camp Royal, Bar 717 Ranch, Hayfork, CA, 96041. Every effort will be made to deliver such mail.

Thank you for your cooperation with the above suggestions. As a parent, we know that you would like calls from your camper when he/she arrives at Camp Royal. Our facilities make this impossible. You may check on your camper’s safe arrival by calling between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM on the arrival date. Ask to speak with a Rotary Host or the Camp Director.
